A mascot helps make SOLVE more approachable and fun! Especially for youth, volunteers, and new community members, while reinforcing our values of volunteerism, teamwork, and care of our shared spaces.

Anyone! Volunteers, community members, partners, youth, and supporters of all ages are welcome to participate.

Not at all. We’re looking for ideas and inspiration, not finished artwork. No design or drawing skills are required.

SOLVE staff will review community submissions and select a mascot concept that best reflects our mission, values, and community spirit.

Not exactly. The final mascot design will be created by Portland artist Mike Bennett, who will adapt the selected concept into his own artistic style. Your idea will serve as the inspiration and foundation for the final design, but some creative interpretation and refinement will be part of the process.

Yes! The creator of the selected mascot concept will receive a gift certificate to SOLVE’s new merch shop, along with public recognition.

By submitting an idea, you agree that SOLVE may adapt or refine the concept into a final mascot design for use across programs, events, communications, and merchandise. You can choose how you’d like to be credited or submit anonymously.
